January Foreclosure Filing Statistics for King County.
Washington State continues to see increased activity in Short Sales and Foreclosures. In January alone, there were 4,981 foreclosure activities in the State of Washington! A foreclosure activity consists of a notice of default (NOD), notice of trustees sale, notice of auction date, or reposession.
These numbers are staggering and still very high, but believe it or not, they are down from previous months. Don't let the numbers fool you. The decrease in foreclosure activities is likely due to the moritoriums many major lenders put on foreclosures over the holiday season.
King County was the largest contributing County to this new epedimic in the State. King County led the State with 1,367 foreclosure activities. This number was almost double of the next County in line. Pierce Country was second with 884. Snohomish County came in a strong 3rd place with 781.
